This Weeks New Releases-featuring Sean Finn, Keeley, Lusitanian Ghosts and many more…..

Sean Finn

Originating from rural Ireland, Seán Finn is a multi-instrumental songwriter, grounded in pop and jazz. With a few years of song writing under his belt, Seán’s homespun style provides a warm and engaging soundscape for his listeners. His new single Summer is Over embodies the fuzzy warm tones of his signature sound, producing a groove laden track with gentle flicks of percussion and immersive, delicate guitar melodies. With a memorable 60s tone to it this is a song that will charm you into autumn.

Keeley

Our favourite dream pop artist Keeley has treated us with a live performance of Never Here Always There. Recorded in Dublin Venue the Workman’s Club during the Quays Festival this track is a bit of an ear worm with a lush guitar aesthetic. Gliding with a melody soaked in a melancholic dreaminess this infectious slice of dream pop is one of those great tracks to get lost in.

Zoid

The brainchild of electronic and jazz musician, Daniel Jacobson. ZOiD is a stalwart of the Dublin electronic scene who will release an album titled ZONGS in 2022. Available on all streaming platforms from September 24th, his latest single Wish You finds the artist collaborating with Nigerian Irish vocalist Esosa Ighodaro O’Brien, and saxophonist Chris Engel. A superb collaboration that has produced a refreshing 909-driven thumper of a track. Wish You is a bang of funk with a quirky modern touch!

ZOid will be performing a one-off live performance of a duo piece called ‘Blaster’, which is part of Aisling Ennis’ #BOUNCE project (https://www.aislingennis.com) 26th September in Ashford, Wicklow.

Waters Edge

Having amassed over 4.2 million views on YouTube for their spectacular audition for the Voice UK 2020. Meath folk duo Katie and Aoife Lynch have returned with their new single Call It Fate. Drawing influence from indie folk greats such as The Staves, Phoebe Bridgers and another folk sister duo, First Aid Kit. Call It Fate is a superb debut from the duo that is a testament to their song writing capabilities; brimming with angelic vocals and a smooth production. This is a gorgeously captivating record that openly showcases the sheer talent of the sisters.

Lisa Gorry

Kildare native Lisa Gorry has released her new singles It Was You(and Me). This release from the artist highlights a shift in self-understanding for Gorry. Highlighting the importance of doing the work and being able to come into a new relationship with eyes and heart wide open. This is a beautiful soulful single that runs with a tremulous air of self forgiveness.

Late Night Pharmacy

Dublin alt rock band Late Night Pharmacy have returned with their new single Grass-Eating Boys. Wrote about the ever modern occurence of hermits, in a society built on communication. The latest offering from Late Night Pharmacy jumps and twitches with a nervous tension; Ascending guitar riffs, frustrated vocals and a razor sharp melody are brilliantly bristled together producing a defiantly archaic post rock sound .

Lusitanian Ghosts

One of our favourite Portuguese-Canadian-Swedish indie-folk-rock collectives Lusitanian Ghosts will release their second album Exotic Quixotic in November. Giving us a wee taster of things to come, their new single Soul Deranium is a vibrant folk track that features ancient Portuguese chordophones and other European stringed instruments. Meshing together the old and the new Lusitanian Ghosts have produced an upbeat ram jam of trad and rock pop with a fantastic vocal performance. Easily raising the bar for folk- rock bands, this is a great anthemic single, deeply infused with the band’s roots.
